Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is one of the many methods used at Kinetic Sports Therapy to speed up healing and get our clients back to their activities. IASTM is a treatment that uses specialized tools to manipulate the skin, fascia, muscles, and tendons by various direct compressive stroke techniques. IASTM introduces a controlled microtrauma which causes the stimulation of local inflammatory response. The microtrauma initiates reabsorption of inappropriate fibrosis or excessive scar tissue and facilitates a cascade of healing activities resulting in remodeling of affected soft tissue structures.
Our physicians are certified in both Graston Technique and Rockblades, two of the leading IASTM certifications.
